Festival, Rennie McQuilkin, shares his works surrounded by his inspiration
with his presentation: “From Painting to Poem.” The Simsbury resident
discusses his most recent book, “Private Collection” based on the poetry
he sees in art—from crayon drawings and graffiti to Rembrandt
masterpieces.

Juror of Selection: Peter Seltzer
Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Peter Seltzer won the Dianne B.
Bernhard Gold Medal Award in 2001 and 2002 from the Pastel Society of
America. Seltzer is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America,
who has work in the permanent collection of the Butler Institute of
American Art, Youngstown, OH, New Britain Museum of American Art, New
Britain, CT and Harvard University, Cambridge, MA., as well as in private
and corporate collections across the country. He recently completed
a portrait of Constance Buchanan for Harvard University.

Montoya Ortiz will be exhibiting his paintings at West Hartford Art
League’s Saltbox Gallery from September 11th-October 9th.
Widely exhibited in Buenos Aires, Argentina, this charismatic plein air
painter is known for his original brush strokes and brilliant colors. This
will be Heriberto’s first solo exhibition in the United States. |

Regis I, "Song of Haiti"
Saltbox Gallery.
Regis utilizes his camera to document the
human rights struggle of the voiceless, while showing their courage,
spirit and beauty. He is the author of three books on Haiti. In 1991, he
joined the Hartford Courant as a photojournalist and has won the National
Arts Program’s Photography Judges Award every year from 2001-2004.
Gallery Talk: Marc Yves Regis will discuss
Haiti, the photos in his show – when, how and why he took them,
